Transfer when the home sellsThe short-term rental certificate expires upon the change of ownership of the property, regardless of whether the buyer informed the Town. The new owner may apply for a new certificate only after 365 days have elapsed from the purchase or other transfer, subject to the cap and waitlist (5.02.030(G)(2)(d)). No family, trust, or entity exceptions appear in 5.02.030 as read. A hosted rental certificate also expires on ownership change, but the new owner or qualifying tenant may apply without a stated waiting period.
