CanIBnB reports what a city's or county's published rules say about short-term rentals at an address. A result here is not a permit, not a promise of a permit, and not a decision of any kind. Only the city or county with jurisdiction over a property can decide whether it may be used as a short-term rental, and only it can issue, deny or revoke a permit.
A green result does not mean you will get a permit. Caps fill, waitlists move, ordinances change between our last check and your application, a homeowners association can prohibit a rental the city allows, and a property's own history or condition can disqualify it. A red result is our reading of the rule as published, not a ruling.
Before you buy, sell, list, advertise or operate a property in reliance on anything here, confirm the current rules directly with the jurisdiction. Every result shows the date it was checked and links to the source so you can.
Nothing on this site is legal, financial, tax or investment advice, and nothing here creates a professional relationship with you. Earnings figures are estimates from public data, labeled as estimates, and are not a projection or a guarantee of what any property will earn. For advice about your situation, talk to a lawyer, an accountant or a licensed advisor working for you.
This is an independent tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or maintained by any city, county, state agency or short-term rental platform.
The site is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or non-infringement. We publish our verification method and the date of every check, and we work hard on accuracy, but we do not warrant that any result is complete, current or error free.
Results are built from public sources: municipal codes, adopted ordinances, county parcel and address data, official registries and mapping services. Those are maintained by others. We do not control them and are not responsible for their accuracy or availability.
To the fullest extent California law allows, CanIBnB (canibnb.com) will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost opportunity or lost data, arising out of your use of this site or your reliance on any result, even if advised of the possibility. Total liability for any claim relating to the site will not exceed one hundred dollars. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

If a result looks wrong, tell us at support@canibnb.com and we will check it against the source. Corrections are logged with the date. This is the fastest way to fix something, and we would rather hear it than not.
We may update these terms; the version and date above will change, and continued use after that is acceptance. These terms are governed by California law without regard to its conflict of law rules, and any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts of Riverside County, California.
